TOP 5 NONSURGICAL COSMETIC PROCEDURES FOR 2012
The American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery’s cosmetic surgery statistics has the most comprehensive collection of data available on the number of cosmetic surgical and nonsurgical procedures performed in the United States. They collect statistical data from all their members and is reporting a 3.1% increase in the total number of cosmetic surgical procedures for the 2011-2012 year.
The top 5 nonsurgical cosmetic procedures for 2012 include injection with Botulinium Toxin A at 3257,913 procedures done followed by Hyaluronic acid type fillers, laser hair removal, microdermabrasion and chemical peels. In total over 12.6 million surgical and non-surgical procedures were performed taking into account those done by both plastic surgeon as well as nurse injectors. That is a lot of procedures!
Women received 90% of these procedures, while men made up 10% or more than 1 million procedures.The most common age group to have procedures done were those between the age of 35 and 50.All over the most popular nonsurgical procedure was Injections done with Botulinium Toxin Type A
