1. How will Latisse give me longer, fuller and darker eyelashes?

The quick and easy answer is “we do not fully understand how it works” Like hair anywhere else on your body, lashes will sprout, grow for a while and then fall out. It seems like Latisse extends the growth phase of the lashes as well as the number of lashes that sprout. That can mean, according to the Latisse trials, an average increase in thickness and fullness of approximately 106%, darkness of your lashes by 18% and length by 25%. Definitely visible results! If you have thin and sparse eyelashes,  Latisse is the obvious solution. It is FDA approved since 2008, is self-applied with no salon or office visits needed, and provides natural looking results.

2. How soon will I see results?

According to the LATISSE® clinical study, results were visible as early as 8 weeks with optimal results reported at 16 weeks. The growth is gradual over time. If you decide to discontinue using it, your lashes will over time return to the pre-treatment appearance

3. I have heard that Latisse is a glaucoma medication. Is that true?

The active ingredient in Latisse is called and has been used in the USA since 2001. Patient reported to their physicians that they noticed that they started growing longer, lusher eyelashes appearing over time. That led to Latisse being developed as a cosmetic product. It is still a prescription medication, and that is why you should first have a short consultation with a cosmetic physician to discuss if Latisse is right for you.

4. What are the main benefits to using Latisse?

5. Is Latisse for everyone?

As for all medications, Latisse should not be used when you are pregnant or breast feeding. If you are a contact lens wearer you should take special precautions as the Latisse solution may be absorbed by soft contact lenses. Make sure that you remove your lenses before applying Latisse. You can reinsert your lenses 20 – 30 minutes later. Latisse is generally well tolerated. Hypersensitivity, itchy eyes, infection as well as iris and lid pigmentation are possible side-effects that can occur but most of these side-effects are mild. Your physician will discuss these side-effects and contra-indications with your initial consultation.
