About Dr. MacIsaac

DR. MARIETTE STEYN

Dr. Jennifer MacIsaac is fully immersed in all aspects of Laser Surgery, Cosmetic and Medical Dermatology. She is focused primarily on laser and non-surgical solutions for dermatologic concerns.

Dr. MacIsaac is a double board-certified Dermatologist with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario and the American Board of Dermatology. She is also an active member of the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery. She participates in clinical research, has several peer-reviewed journal publications, and has been an educator and mentor with the University of Ottawa since 2008. Dr. MacIsaac is an active participant in many areas within the Dermatology Division at The Ottawa Hospital. As a member of the Aesthetic Women’s Group, she promotes best practices in aesthetic medicine.

Dr. MacIsaac completed both a Dermatology and Family Medicine residency at the University of Ottawa, and received her medical degree from the University of Toronto. She completed a fellowship year in Cutaneous Laser Surgery and Cosmetic Dermatology as well as a year in Women’s Health following her family medicine training. Her Women’s Health fellowship included managing focused gynecologic conditions as well as more broad, hormone-related symptoms.

About Dr. Mariette Steyn

Dr. Mariette Steyn is an accredited family physician with a special interest in medical cosmetic procedures and has been a certified Botox® injector since 2008. She is registered with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario as well as the College of Family Physicians of Canada.

Dr. Steyn was born in Pretoria, South Africa and completed her medical education at the University of Pretoria, South Africa in 1987. After finishing her studies she pursued several interests including rotations in pediatrics, radiology, rural medicine and general internal medicine. She obtained a masters degree in Clinical Pharmacology before relocating to Canada. Dr.Steyn practiced Family Medicine in Fort St. John, BC, and then started her own Women’s Health Clinic in Brockville, Ontario.

In 2006, Dr. Steyn joined the Upper Canada Family Health Team as Family Physician. In 2008, she incorporated medical aesthetics procedures into her family practice. She is now consulting at the Brockville Cosmetic Skin Clinic.

Medical aesthetics accreditation

Dr. Steyn received accredited training in Vein and Medical Aesthetic procedures, Botox® Cosmetic, injectable dermal fillers, medical laser therapy, as well as microdermabrasion.

Dr. Steyn has completed advanced training courses in the use of Botox® Cosmetic and Facial Fillers through the International Association for Physicians in Aesthetic Medicine.
